Alexis: A Mom in Medical Aesthetics

Alexis: A Mom in Medical Aesthetics

What inspired you to pursue a career in Aesthetics?

I’ve always loved the beauty industry and the medical field, so pursuing medical aesthetics felt like the perfect combination of both. I became an EMT, but as I explored my interests, I realized that medical aesthetics was a better fit for me. I also love the flexibility this career offers, especially as a mom. It allows me to pursue something I’m passionate about while still making time for my family.

What excites you the most about becoming an Aesthetician?

What excites me most is helping people feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. I love being able to support clients, educate them, and help them feel comfortable throughout their skin care journey.

What are your goals after graduating from NIMA?

After graduating from NIMA, I went straight into working at a medical spa, where I continued building my skills and gaining valuable industry experience. I worked in the med spa industry for several years, which allowed me to grow professionally, strengthen my knowledge, and put the education I received at NIMA into practice.

If future students could hear one piece of advice from you, what would you want them to know?

Take advantage of every opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience. The more knowledge and practical skills you build while you’re in school, the more confident and prepared you’ll feel when you start interviewing for jobs. Ask questions, stay engaged, and make the most of your time at NIMA.
