What inspired you to pursue a career in Aesthetics?
I wanted to pursue aesthetics because I’ve always been interested in skin care and helping people feel more confident in their skin. I’ve personally struggled with skin confidence, so I understand how much it can affect how you feel about yourself. I want to help others improve their skin while also helping them feel more confident and comfortable in themselves.
What excites you the most about becoming an Aesthetician?
What excites me most about aesthetics is how many opportunities there are. I love that there isn’t just one path, and I’ll have the chance to discover what I’m most passionate about and find a specialty that fits me. I also love that aesthetics can offer flexibility and allow me to build a career that works well for my future family while helping people feel more confident every day.
Why did you choose NIMA for your education?
I chose NIMA because of the flexibility it offers with different schedule options, allowing me to find one that fits my life. When I toured the school, I immediately noticed how professional and welcoming the environment was. If future students could hear one piece of advice from you, what would you want them to know?
My advice is to enjoy your time at NIMA and take full advantage of every opportunity. Ask questions, practice as much as possible, and stay on top of your attendance. If you do miss time, make it up when you can; NIMA offers great opportunities to get those extra hours. The effort you put in during school will make a big difference in your confidence, skills, and success after graduation.

It can feel overwhelming at first, but try not to waste any time. Ask questions, even if you think they might be silly. Take advantage of every opportunity, soak up as much knowledge as possible, and make the most of your time here.

Just do it! I wish I had started this journey 10 years ago, but it’s never too late to pursue something you’re passionate about. Take the leap, trust yourself, and remember that starting now is always better than waiting for the “perfect” time.

What inspired you to pursue a career in Aesthetics?
I was inspired to pursue aesthetics after meeting an aesthetician at an event where they had a booth demonstrating a Hydrafacial. I loved the way they interacted with me and how passionate they were about what they were doing. That experience showed me how much I could enjoy a career where I can connect with people while doing something I love.

What excites me most about becoming an aesthetician is the opportunity to eventually open my own business and help others by educating them about their skin concerns and providing beneficial treatments.

I wanted to receive a high-quality education, so I spent time researching the different schools in Utah. NIMA came highly recommended and quickly stood out to me as the best choice. The school tour was an amazing experience, and I left feeling excited and confident about enrolling.

My goal is to eventually open my own studio while also exploring part-time opportunities at a plastic surgeon’s office or medical spa, particularly in an environment that offers laser treatments.
If future students could hear one piece of advice from you, what would you want them to know?
Be actively involved in your own education and take ownership of your learning. I’ve surprised myself many times throughout this journey, from finding the confidence to ask questions to continuously improving my skills as I learn. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to help. Stay engaged, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. If you put in the effort, you’ll be amazed at how much you can grow and how prepared you’ll feel for your future career.

As a mom, I wanted to find a career path that I could pursue while still being present for my children. I’ve always been interested in health, wellness, and how the body works. What inspired you to pursue a career in Aesthetics?
I’ve been passionate about skin care and anti-aging for as long as I can remember. With a background as a trapeze artist and experience working in hair and makeup, pursuing a career in aesthetics felt like the natural next step in my journey. I was a teacher for 15 years while raising my kids and homesteading. During that time, I started making my own skin care, which sparked my interest in the aesthetics industry.
