Students who wish to pay tuition without using federal or private loans, simply need to begin the NIMA Application process. An Enrollment Specialist will then contact you to schedule your enrollment meeting and complete the enrollment process.
Required Payments for Self-Pay Students:
- $1,000 down payment due to reserve your spot in your desired start date
- Full tuition and fees will be due 30 days prior to your desired start date

federal student aid
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available to all students regardless of income. FAFSA awards may include grants, no-interest loans and low-interest loans provided by the Federal Department of Education. If you do not plan to self-pay your full tuition, we require that you apply for, and accept, all Federal Student Aid that is awarded to you.

- Complete the Master Promissory Note. Using your FSA ID, select “Undergraduate Student” and complete the loan agreement for “Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans”. Download a copy. You will need to upload this to your application portal.

If FAFSA does not cover your full tuition, NIMA offers private funding options as well as in-house financing options. We require that you apply to, and accept any amounts awarded from, at least two private funding options prior to being eligible for in-house financing.

After you have applied for and accepted both FAFSA and 2 private options, NIMA will finance any remaining tuition over the duration of your enrollment. The following terms apply:
- $1,000 down payment required to hold a spot in any course
- Up to $3,000 required prior to start date. Amount due will vary depending on loan and financial aid.
- Remaining tuition will be divided into equal payments over the course of your enrollment, based on your original estimated graduation date
- 4% interest while enrolled
- 6% interest on any amount unpaid at original estimated graduation date

Next Steps After Submitting Your FAFSA
Once you submit your FAFSA, you may see your “award amount” immediately for Pell Grants, Subsidized, and Unsubsidized loans. If these amounts cover your full tuition, you can proceed to complete your application.

- Collect a $1,000 down payment
- Schedule payment for your full tuition (due at least 30 days prior to your start date)

If additional funding is needed to cover your tuition, please proceed to Step 3 before submitting your application.
Private Loan Options for Tuition Coverage
If federal grants and loans do not fully cover your tuition, and you are unable to self-pay the remaining balance, NIMA requires that you apply for loans through at least two private lending institutions before qualifying for in-house financing. While you are welcome to use funds from any private lender, we recommend starting with our preferred lenders, listed below:
