Dermaplaning is a noninvasive, painless procedure. It is performed by a highly trained skincare specialist utilizing a modified surgical blade held at a 45° angle. This treatment will safely remove keratinized cells on the outer stratum corneum, as well as fine vellus hair know as “peach fuzz”. Removing epidermal skin cells allows for deeper penetration of product and the residual removal of vellus hair leaves your client’s skin appearance more vibrant. Often times, this vellus hair causes a build-up of dirt and oil in the follicle, which can lead to other skin conditions. Whether your client chooses mechanical or chemical exfoliations, the benefits are visible. Many clients are realizing that dermaplaning is an effective way to safely exfoliate the skin, revealing smooth and radiant skin.
This course is ideal for students that have already learned the basics of esthetics and are licensed to perform these services within their state.
NIMA recommends that you check with your state to determine the licenses necessary within your area of practice.
