Medical Aestheticians Schools to Know

Medical aestheticians work with clients who are suffering from serious skin problems, including burns, trauma or helping people after they’ve had plastic surgery. Medical estheticians bring their skills and expertise around skincare to a medical setting. Their main job requirement is to help patients learn how to take care of the skin after a medical treatment for a variety of diseases and conditions.

Unlike Medical Aestheticians, Estheticians perform minor skin care services, which can include massage, hair removal, skin cleansing and skin toning.  Medical aestheticians may also perform the same tasks than an esthetician does, however, medical aestheticians have also had further training that allows for them to work in a clinical setting where they can perform more advanced specialized treatments.

So how do you become a medical aesthetician? We’ve created a four step guide towards becoming a medical aesthetician! First, make sure you meet the requirements. In most states, you need to have your high school diploma or GED to perform laser treatments. Before choosing a medical aesthetician school, research your state’s requirements to make sure you qualify. After passing that step, it’s time to look into medical aesthetician schools. You need to make sure that the school you choose offers what you need in terms of programs so it might not be in your best interest to attend a school that is local to you. Before making your decision, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do they offer hands-on training?
  • What type of equipment do they use?
  • How long are the programs and do you meet the requirements?
  • Is the school regulated by your state?

After answering these questions, you should be more confident in choosing the right medical aesthetician school for you. Next, it’s time to attend one of the many medical aesthetician schools. Complete and pass the required courses and you’re off to earn your certification and explore your job opportunities.

Not sure what medical aestheticians schools to attend? We’ve broken down the top three aesthetician schools in the nation. One of the top schools to attend is NIMA Institute because of the reputation and world-class training. NIMA offers programs at their brick and mortar locations in Salt Lake City, Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada. Luckily, NIMA also offers online courses so that those around the nations can get world-class training from the top educators in beauty.

Another great option is the Ogle School, with multiple locations throughout Texas. Since 1973, Ogle School has prepared students for rewarding careers in the beauty industry through salon-modeled, student-centered training and development of the highest caliber.

Lastly, we recommend the Aesthetic Science Institute, located in Latham, New York. Like NIMA Institute, Aesthetic Science Institute offers online courses for remote students. With increasing consumer awareness, and ever changing industry trends, it is imperative for medical aestheticians to stay on the cutting edge. By attending one of the top medical aesthetician schools in the country, it will give you a step up in the industry.

Is coolsculpting arms right for you?

CoolSculpting is a weight loss treatment that focuses on one interesting characteristic of fat cells. This characteristic is that they freeze at much warmer temperatures than any other cells that surround them. While a specific temperature may do very little to affect skin and muscle cells, that same temperature will freeze and kill fat cells. So, CoolSculpting is exposing areas of fat to that temperature for a certain amount of time and a certain number of times. This kills the fat and makes it go away but doesn’t harm the other cells in the area. A popular form of CoolSculpting is CoolSculpting in the arms. Many fear the batwing arm or excessive fat in the tricep area, but, no worries, CoolSculpting with NIMA has the solution!

Many practices have started offering CoolSculpting arms as a part of their packages including NIMA Institute. CoolSculpting works on stubborn fat on the upper arms and is one of the most common treatment areas for CoolSculpting. The suction action during CoolSculpting will draw fat cells to the surface of the skin, allowing bothersome cells to be targeted and treated with cold temperatures. Typically, the procedure lasts about thirty minutes to an hour depending on the patient’s needs. Patients often have two treatments of CoolSculpting within a two-month period. Results are up to 80 percent reduction of fat following one single CoolSculpting arm procedure. Many even recommend the treatment to their family and friends! Each patient is unique and the treatment plan will vary depending on the plan formulated by your doctor.

Now that we’ve explained what CoolSculpting is and how it works, let’s talk about who can get CoolSculpting done, because it is, unfortunately, not everyone. Groups that either shouldn’t get CoolSculpting arms done or just can’t get it done are those who have been diagnosed with obesity or those with medical conditions. CoolSculpting arms have been designed to be used on those who are almost at a healthy weight but have been struggling with stubborn fat pockets which means it won’t work on thicker layers of fat. Also, those with medical conditions, sensitive to the cold, shouldn’t get CoolSculpting arms. If you aren’t sure if you can or should get CoolSculpting for your arms, be sure to consult your doctor first.

Why target the arm region? I would expand into what makes this area popular is popular apparel choices of tanks, cut off sleeves, dresses, etc display full arms. With this procedure, you can reshape your body starting with the arms. You may have to do more research or spitball why the Arm region lol.

At NIMA, we provide the necessary tools for those interested in CoolSculpting arms. Our trained qualified experts will walk you through the entire process from start to finish so you are fully aware and prepared for the procedure. Did you know that some clients read or even take a nap during the process? It’s that easy and relaxed as we help you shape your new body! We are qualified and make sure our patients are comfortable throughout the whole procedure. Are you ready to try CoolSculpting your arms? What to know about lash lifts

If we’re being totally honest, there are very few of us who wouldn’t love some better eyelashes. It’s pretty common to have lashes that don’t lift very high and are very curled. It’s also very common to have light-colored lashes. If you’re trying to go for a bold look with your make up, especially with a focus on your eyes, not having full dark lashes that draw attention to your eyes is going to be a problem. This means that many people have been looking for ways to lift, curl, and darken lashes. There are some pretty common methods that you can do at home, but those aren’t always the best. That’s why so many people have turned to lash lifts to get their bold lash look. But what is a lash lift? How does it work? Why is it better than other lash treatments? These are all great questions. We’ll answer these and more in this article. Let’s get started.

What exactly are lash lifts?

Let’s start by covering some of the more basic questions about lash lifts. Mainly, what is a lash lift?

Biggest trends in make-up these days is focusing on the eyes. This means that there are a lot of people who have been spending their time and money on things like expensive mascara and eyelash extensions. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to do that stuff to get a full lashed look. Plus, those products aren’t always the best. Mascara is a pain to put on every day. It only lasts one day (if that) and runs the second you have any liquid on your face (unless you use waterproof mascara, but then that’s impossible to get off). Plus, if you forget and rub your eye, you’ll end up having a black smudge across the side of your face. That’s not fun. Eyelash extensions could be a solution, but they have their own problems. They tend to be very expensive and grow out quickly. Plus, they don’t always look very natural. That isn’t a problem for everyone, but for those who are trying to achieve the “natural look,” eyelash extensions aren’t the best choice.

So, what are lash lifts and what makes them better than mascara or lash extensions? You can think of a lash lift as a perm for your eyelashes. It uses chemicals and what is essentially a mini curling wand to lift and curl your eyelashes semi-permanently. The benefit of this is that it does the job of mascara without having to put on mascara. It’s a mascara look without the mascara mess. Pretty great, right? Plus, it looks much more natural looking than eyelash extensions. Another benefit of lash lifts over lash extensions is that when your eyelashes grow out, they don’t just fall into your eye like eyelash extensions. They just grow like they normally do and as they grow the do loose the lift and the curl. This can take anywhere between six to eight weeks. At that point you will need to get the lash lift redone if you want that look again. This is not unlike lash extensions. However, you with a lash lift, you won’t have to do deal with the fake lashes falling into your eyes.

Where can I get lash lifts in the Salt Lake area?

So, now that you know what a lash lift is, it’s not hard to see why people want them as much as they do. You may be looking to get a lash lift done yourself. But if you live in the Salt Lake area you may not be sure where to start. While Salt Lake City definitely is a city, it is also definitely a small city (after all, its nickname among us locals is, “Small Lake City”). As a result, we don’t always have all of the resources that other cities have. So, finding a good spa for things like lash lifts can be intimidating. But this is where the NIMA Institute comes into play. NIMA is a perfect place to get your lash lift done, but we don’t expect you to just take our word for it. Let’s talk about what makes NIMA so great.

We keep up on the latest technology

As you can tell by our name (NIMA Institute), we are a school. And because we are a school, we want to make sure that our students come out of our programs as prepared for their careers as possible. This means that we stay up to date on the latest and greatest in aesthetic technology. So, when you come in to get any treatment, including a lash lift, you know you are getting the latest treatment out there.

We have expert teachers

We can understand the hesitation of coming to a school to get something like a lash lift done. However, this doesn’t need to be a worry for you. We hire only experts in aesthetics to be our teachers. That way you can be sure that even though your treatment is being done by a student, it is being done by a student who is guided by a top person in the field.

No one can beat our prices

Even though our students are being taught by the best instructors out there and have access to the best tech possible, we don’t expect you to pay normal spa prices to have your treatment done by a student. This means that you get a fantastic experience all for a low price. Who wouldn’t love that?

So, now you know the main things that you should know about lash lifts. They are more-or-less a perm for you lashes that give them a lifted, full look all while keeping it as natural as possible. There’s no need to mess around with mascara, extensions, or a lash curler when you have a lash lift. Just another step of your daily routine that you don’t need to worry about. How great is that? Some of the basics of CoolSculpting

At this point, who hasn’t heard of CoolSculpting? There are billboards, TV ads, and online ads for it just about everywhere. However, there are still many people who don’t exactly know what CoolSculpting is. That’s okay. It’s still a fairly new treatment, so no one would expect you to be an expert in it at this point. That’s we at the NIMA Institute are here for. We focus pretty heavily on education, so we want to help you understand CoolSculpting a little bit better. Let’s go over some of the basics of CoolSculpting together.

An overview of CoolSculpting in general

Of course, we should start at the beginning, meaning that we should define what CoolSculpting is and how it works to start with.

As you may or may not already know, there is a certain point for each kind of cell in the body that is known as the freezing point. This is a temperature where it is so completely frozen that it can’t recover. The damage from the cold is too much and the cell dies. This point is different for each cell. Some freeze at really cold temperatures, while others freeze at relatively warm temperatures. Fat cells are among the ones that freeze at relatively warm temperatures. In fact, their freezing point is so warm that the temperature doesn’t really do anything to the skin and muscle cells that surround the fat cells. This is the idea that lies behind CoolSculpting. It is the idea that if you expose an area with excess fat to that temperature for a particular period of time it will kill the fat but leave the skin and muscle alone. But this one its own doesn’t do enough to explain how CoolSculpting works. So, let’s go over what a CoolSculpting session is like.

CoolSculpting sessions always start with the same thing: preparation. Your CoolSculpting technician will get you prepped for your session by get you seated in the chair in a way that makes the area you want to focus on (usually called the target area) is readily available. Then they will get the protective pad in place. It’s not uncommon for people to hear the phrase “protective pad” and get a little nervous, worrying that CoolSculpting isn’t safe. But CoolSculpting is one of the only weight loss treatments that is actually approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This pad is just an added precaution to make sure that the treatment really is as safe as possible.

Once everything is ready to go, your CoolSculpting tech will put the CoolSculpting applicator in place and set it to run for a predetermined period of time. During this time there are a few things you should be aware of. One is that you may feel some odd sensations. At first it may be a slight tugging or pinching feeling. The after a little while that feeling will go away as the area starts to numb. Both the pinching and numbing sensations are very normal responses to being exposed to the cold and neither are something to worry about. The numbing will go away a little while after the session is over. The other thing that you should know about the time when the CoolSculpting applicator is running is that you don’t have to do anything. As long as you stay in your chair, you can do whatever. Many people use this as an opportunity to catch up on some reading or a few Z’s.

Once the predetermined period of time has passed, your CoolSculpting tech will remove everything from the target area and massage it a little. This helps warm up the area and get rid of the numbness faster, but it also helps break up the frozen cells. Then that’s it. Once your session is over, there is nothing else you need to do until your next session. That is one of the best things about CoolSculpting. After each session you just get to go back to your life. Doesn’t that make things easy?

One thing that should be noted about CoolSculpting is that you’re not going to notice results right away. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months for you to notice any real effects from your CoolSculpting. So, be sure to be patient. You need to give your body time to get rid of the dead cells.

Going over who can and can’t get CoolSculpting done

Now that we’ve covered how CoolSculpting works, let’s talk about who CoolSculpting works for, because it isn’t everyone.

The first thing to know is that CoolSculpting is made for those who are just about to their target weight but have been struggling with some stubborn fat. It is a way to help get rid of some small pockets of fat that you find in places like the back and the stomach. It is not made to help with bigger, denser areas of fat. That means that it will not work on those who have been diagnosed with obesity.

The other group that can’t get CoolSculpting done is anyone who has a condition that makes them sensitive to cold. This includes things like Raynaud’s disease, cold agglutinin disease, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, or cryoglobulinemia. CoolSculpting could cause some serious side effects for those who have any of these conditions. If you’re not sure if CoolSculpting is right for you, talk to your doctor first. They should know if that is safe for you.

So, those are the basics of CoolSculpting. Of course, there are still some things that should be known, and you probably still have some questions. That’s why we here at NIMA offer a free consultation before you get any CoolSculpting done. During this consultation you will learn more about CoolSculpting, figure out if it’s right for you, and where your target areas may be. Now that you armed with more knowledge of what CoolSculpting is, you may be interested in getting it done. So, why not schedule your free consultation today? Can you get CoolSculpting on your arms?

Can anyone get CoolSculpting done?

At this point, pretty much everyone has heard of CoolSculpting. However, that doesn’t mean that everyone understands CoolSculpting. There are many questions, misconceptions, and areas of confusion surrounding this treatment. If there are many things that we take very seriously here at NIMA, high on that list is education. So, allow us to educate you on CoolSculpting and one of the most important concepts connected to it: just who can get CoolSculpting done. Let’s get started, shall we?

Some of the basics of CoolSculpting

We should, of course, start with the basics. So, let’s go over a definition of CoolSculpting and what you can expect from it, together.

CoolSculpting is a weight loss treatment that focuses on one interesting characteristic of fat cells. This characteristic is that they freeze at much warmer temperatures than any other cell that surround them. What this means is that while a temperature may do very little to affect skin and muscle cells, that same temperature will freeze and kill fat cells. So, CoolSculpting is exposing areas of fat to that temperature for a certain amount of time and certain number of times. This kills the fat and makes it go away but doesn’t do much to the other cells in the area.

However, we don’t expect you to fully understand CoolSculpting just from that little paragraph. To better explain it all, let’s talk about what a CoolSculpting session is like.

CoolSculpting sessions are pretty simple and straight forward. Every session starts with prep. A CoolSculpting technician will get you placed in the chair and place a protective pad on the area where your focus for the CoolSculpting is (this area is normally referred to as the target area). Once all of that is ready, the technician will put the CoolSculpting applicator in place on the target area and turn it on. They will allow the applicator to run for a previously decided on period of time.

There are a few things you should know about the time that the applicator is running. The first is that you may experience some odd sensations. It will start with a feeling of cold, of course. That will be potentially followed by a pinching or tugging feeling. That will soon go away as the area starts to numb. But don’t let the numbing alarm you. It is a completely normal response to the cold and will go away a little while after the session is over. The other thing you should know about this time is that there is nothing that you need to be doing. You get to sit back and relax while the applicator does its work. Many people use this as an opportunity to get caught up on reading, podcasts, work, or sleep. You can do pretty much whatever you feel like, as long as it keeps you in the chair.

After the right amount of time has passed, the technician will turn off and remove the applicator along with the pad. The technician will then massage the target area. This massage is done to help break up the clump of frozen cells. That helps the body get rid of the dead cells faster. After that, you get to leave. That is actually one of the most incredible parts of CoolSculpting. Not only is it an outpatient treatment, it also is a treatment that requires no recovery time. There is no need to take time off to recover from CoolSculpting because it is isn’t invasive and doesn’t really do any damage. You may have some swelling, redness, or even bruising in the target area, but that’s it really. And that goes away after a little while. The fact that CoolSculpting is not only fast and easy, but also is simple to recover from is one of the biggest draws of this treatment.

Who can get CoolSculpting done?

Now that we’ve explain what CoolSculpting is and how it works, let’s talk about who can get CoolSculpting done, because it is, unfortunately, not everyone.

There are a few groups of people who either shouldn’t get CoolSculpting done or just can’t get it done. The group that can’t get it done are those who have been diagnosed with obesity. CoolSculpting has been designed to be used on those who are almost at a healthy target weight but have been struggling with stubborn fat pockets. This means that it doesn’t work on thicker layers of fat. The group that shouldn’t get CoolSculpting done is those who have medical conditions that make them extra sensitive to the cold. This could make CoolSculpting very dangerous for them. If you aren’t sure if you can or should get CoolSculpting done, be sure to talk to your doctor. They will help guide you in the right direction on this.

Of course, you can also set up a free consultation with us here at the NIMA Institute. We require a consultation before all of our CoolSculpting and for good reason. During this consultation there are many things that are officially decided. One of these things is whether or not you are well suited for CoolSculpting. During the consultation, it will also be decided where your target areas are. You and the CoolSculpting expert will also figure out how many sessions you may need and how long each of those sessions should last. Then you will schedule your sessions. But there is no actual obligation tied to this consultation. If during the consultation you decide that it isn’t for you, even if you are well suited for it, that’s okay. There’s no requirement to schedule treatments or to get CoolSculpting done at all.

So, now you know what CoolSculpting is, how it works, and who can and can’t get it done. You are all ready to tackle the CoolSculpting world. If you still have questions after reading things, feel free to set up your free consultation here at NIMA. Our CoolSculpting experts will be able to clear up any confusions and answer any questions you may have. Does CoolSculpting work on the arms?

Lickety-Split Laser Hair Removal

Life goes by fast; we understand that more than other businesses. Your life is face-paced and so is our business. There are new treatments in aesthetics that are popping up every day. While we try to hold the reins on our staff and introduce new innovative technologies to our spa and our institute, your life is never on hold. And we don’t want to take any time out of your schedule unless you want us to. So, what does this have to do with laser hair removal? Well, let us explain. Besides deep washing your hair or attempting to give yourself a scalp massage, what is the one thing that takes the longest amount of time to do in your shower routine? Yep, you guessed it! Shaving. Shaving can take far too long if you ask us. So, perhaps taking it out of your daily routine will give you a bit more time to do other tasks. But how? We’re glad you asked.

Laser Hair Removal: What is it?

Laser hair removal is an alternative to other hair removal treatments such as shaving (ugh), waxing (ouch), hair removal creams (smells weird), etc. We use the laser to pinpoint the hair follicles that we want to get rid of. By getting rid of the hair follicle, you destroy the hair. If there is no place for the hair to grow from, no hair.  Of course, each hair follicle is different so that’s why we make multiple appointments to ensure that all of the hair follicles you want gone are gone! Now that you know a little more about laser hair removal, here are a few common questions we get asked regarding the treatment:

  • Where can I get laser hair removal done? – Where do you grow dark hair? That’s where laser hair removal can be done. We have many clients that ask if it’s safe to use on the face. That answer remains a solid yes! Many clients of ours get treatments on their upper lip, chin, eyebrows, or even sideburns. Laser hair removal can be done on the legs, back, bikini areas, arms, stomach, or underarms. Those who have decided to decorate their body tattoos should consider areas the tattoos aren’t covering as laser hair removal can damage them. So, basically, if you want laser hair removal done in an area, it’s likely that we can get rid of that hair!
  • What is the number of treatments I’ll need? – Everyone has different hair follicles and therefore the number of treatments needed will vary. To get at least 70-90% permanent hair removal, we usually recommend about eight to twelve sessions. When you come in for a consultation, we’ll be able to give you a better estimate based on the area you want done and how well we think it will take to laser hair removal.
  • Is it safe? – Yes, laser hair removal is safe. Laser hair removal is a non-invasive treatment aka there is no poking or prodding under the skin … only lasers. Because of the non-invasiveness of the treatment, it has a low risk of negative reactions. When performed by highly trained specialists (like us at NIMA) the side effects from it are fairly uncommon.
  • How long does the treatment last? – This hair removal treatment can be a permanent treatment. However, the permanence of laser hair removal depends on whether or not the hair follicle is destroyed completely. If the hair follicle is 100% destroyed the treatment will last a lifetime. But if the hair follicle has only been damaged the hair in the treated area will eventually grow back. When a client undergoes six to eight laser hair removal treatments, they may be able to enjoy hardly any hair regrowth for about a year. If you see regrowth in the treated area between six to twelve months a touch-up treatment appointment can be scheduled to help manage the regrowth.
  • How long does laser hair removal take? – This answer to this question will vary by which area/areas you are getting the laser hair removal on. Most areas will take about 20 minutes or less to complete. However, your appointment time will vary depending on how many body areas we are lasering that day. So, if we’re treating two or more areas your appointment will last longer than the 20 minutes.
  • Does it hurt? – Everyone has a different pain tolerance, right? Some people get tattoos for fun others wince away at the thought of the flu shot. So, this will all depend on your state of mind and what other treatments you’ve done. If you used to get waxed often, this may seem like a walk in the park. Most of our clients say that laser hair removal feels like small pin pricks over and over again. Each time you come in to get a session the pin prick feeling will lessen, and you’ll be more comfortable. If you are a bit more sensitive than most, our technicians can apply a topical numbing cream to help ease the discomfort. No one said ‘beauty isn’t pain’ but we’ll try to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
  • Are there side effects I should be worried about? – Although laser hair removal is generally safe and doesn’t usually cause harsh side effects, there are some to look out for. Some side effects you may experience after it are redness, crusting of the skin, or small changes in skin color on the area that was treated. Some people may experience these side effects of laser hair removal while others do not. Either way, keep in mind that these are minor and temporary.

How many times do you have to do CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting certainly has been gaining more and more attention over recent years. And for pretty good reason. It is, after all, an effective and safe way to get rid of those frustrating pockets of stubborn fat. But all of this attention leads to a lot of questions and a lot of confusion. We want to help clear all of those up because here at NIMA we are all about education. So, let’s focus on one question in particular today: How many times do you have to do CoolSculpting?

What is CoolSculpting exactly?

Before we can explain how many sessions of CoolSculpting it may take, we should explain what CoolSculpting is and how it works. This will help you understand better why it may take the number of sessions it may take.

We’ve already briefly mentioned what CoolSculpting is. It is a way to get rid of fat. Not only that, but it is one of the few weight loss treatments that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. It works by taking advantage of one interesting aspect of fat cells: they freeze at a warmer temperature than most other cells. The temperature that kills them is one that leaves skin and muscle cells unharmed and virtually untouched. The idea of CoolSculpting is that if you expose an area with excess fat to that temperature for a period of time a certain number of times, you will kill the fat cells and leave the other cells alone. This allows CoolSculpting to be an effective, non-invasive way of getting rid of unwanted fat. You can get CoolSculpting done on just about any part of your body. Many people get it done on their arms, thighs, chin, and stomach; you can even get it done on your knees.

But to make sure that you really understand how CoolSculpting works, let’s illustrate how a CoolSculpting session plays out. It starts simply by a CoolSculpting technician getting everything prepared. This involves getting you in position on the CoolSculpting chair and placing a protective pad on the desired area that is more often called the target area. This pad is to help ensure that the CoolSculpting is as safe as can be, though it is considered to be safe, it is best to have some added precautions. Then the technician will get the CoolSculpting applicator in place on your target area and turn it on.

The CoolSculpting applicator will run for a specific amount of time that will be determined during your consultation (which we will talk about in a little while). While the applicator is running you may notice some odd sensations. It will, of course, start with a cold feeling, but that will soon give way to a pinching or tugging feeling. This may be uncomfortable, but it won’t last long. Eventually, the target area will numb and that feeling will go away. There is no need to worry about this numbness. It is temporary and will go away not long after the session is over. During the time that the CoolSculpting applicator is running you can do whatever you like, as long as it keeps you in position in the CoolSculpting chair. Many people use this as an opportunity to get caught up on reading and podcasts.

After the predesignated amount of time has passed, the technician will turn the applicator off and remove it from the target area along with the pad. Then they will massage the target area a bit. This massage helps get the dead, frozen cells ready to be expelled by the body by breaking them up. It also helps warm the area up a bit faster. After all of that, you get to go home. There is no recovery time, no need to take time to heal up. This is because there isn’t really anything to recover or heal from. This is one of the biggest appeals of CoolSculpting. Each session only lasts about half an hour to an hour. Then you’re done until your next session. It is quick, easy, and allows you to go back to your life without interruption.

How many treatments will I need?

So, now that we’ve talked about what CoolSculpting is and how it works, it’s time to answer the big question of the day. How many times do you have to do CoolSculpting?

The issue with this question is that there isn’t a good set answer. Most people need anywhere from one to three sessions for one target area. However, some people need more. It depends on several different factors. One of these is where the target area is. For example, the thighs may take more sessions than the chin. Another factor is how much fat is in the target area. If one arm is a bit flabbier than the other, it may require more sessions than the other.

So, the number of sessions will depend, but you can’t know for sure until your consultation. Here at NIMA we give all of our CoolSculpting clients a free consultation before scheduling any sessions. During this consultation you and a Coolsculpting expert will determine a number of things. These things include if CoolSculpting is even right for you (there some you can’t or shouldn’t get CoolSculpting done), where your target area may be and if there is more than one, how long your sessions should be, and of course, how many sessions you will need. All of this will be worked out for free and there is no obligation after this consultation. If you decide that you would rather not get the treatment done that is fine!

Because everyone is different, it’s hard to give a definite answer to questions like how many CoolSculpting sessions you may need. It’s important that your CoolSculpting treatment is specifically tailored to you. That’s why we at NIMA offer a free CoolSculpting consultation. That way you can got into your CoolSculpting sessions confident that you are getting exactly what you need. Why not schedule your consultation today? That means you will just be one step closer to loving your body. What are the side effects of CoolSculpting?

Freezing your fat with CoolSculpting takes time and patience. If you’re looking for a way to flush away those stubborn areas of fat without down time, keep reading to learn more about freezing your fat.

What is Freezing Fat aka CoolSculpting?

It is likely that you have heard of this new innovative way to get rid of that fat that just won’t go away! It is also just as likely that you do not understand what it means or how it works. So, let us break it down for you. CoolSculpting, aka Freezing Fat, is a non-intrusive treatment that freezes unwanted fat cells in particular areas. This treatment requires no downtime because there is no surgery or invasiveness at all. Yep, you heard that right, no down time! CoolSculpting is one of the only FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved fat removal procedures. That should tell you something about it! How many products do you use that don’t have the FDA stamp of approval? Freezing fat works by using a controlled intense cooling machine to destroy those difficult fat cells. The intense cool and pull of the CoolSculpting machine freezes those cells, killing them. Once those pesky fat cells are frozen, your body naturally gets rid of them throughout time. This seems too good to be true, right? Well, it’s not! However, it is important to keep in mind that this is not a get-rid-of-fat-quick procedure. It takes some patience, but you will be pleasantly surprised by your results.

What should I expect?

The very first thing you’ll do is make an appointment for a consultation. At the consultation we’ll get the basic information we’ll need. We will ask where you want your freezing fat to take place and then our experts will assess whether or not you are a right fit for this treatment. Yes, that’s right, generally most people will be able to go through CoolSculpting but others it may not be the best option. We will be able to tell you how many sessions you should go through to get your optimum results.

Now, after you have gone through your consultation, it’s time to freeze that fat! We’ll begin by placing our CoolSculpting device on the area that was chosen to get rid of that stubborn fat. Then all you need to do is sit back and try to relax while the freezing fat machine does its thing! In the beginning of your session, you may feel an intense cooling sensation and a bit of tugging and pulling. But, after a while you won’t be able to feel it at all as some of our clients say you get used to the sessions. During their treatments, our clients will often read, listen to music, watch a movie on their phone/laptop or even take a nap. We here at NIMA want your CoolSculpting experience to be as pleasant as possible. So, let us know if we can do anything to make you comfortable! Then after your session you will be able to easily go through the rest of your day! Remember, no downtime!

After your session(s) there may be some side-effects to look for! It is important to keep in mind that all of these side effects are temporary.

During: pinching, numbness, deep pulling, tugging, or discomfort.

After: temporary numbness, bruising, firmness, redness, swelling, tingling, stinging or pain.

Again, these are just temporary side effects of CoolSculpting so there is no need to be nervous. Remember, there are some people that should not go through the freezing fat process. Like, those who have cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria should not go through this process. It should also be noted that CoolSculpting is not a treatment for obesity. Those who are obese will not be able to go through the process. Here at NIMA we want to make sure that CoolSculpting is the right choice for you and your body. This is why we have our free consultations to make sure that CoolSculpting will be the right choice.

What happens after NIMA freezes my fat?

Like we stated before, this is not a lose-weight-fast type of treatment. CoolSculpting takes time, so you must be patient. Each person is different and the amount of fat we freeze is different as well. Therefore, when someone goes through our CoolSculpting treatment it will be different for each one. Some of our clients can see results as fast as three whole weeks. However, our CoolSculpting experts here at NIMA have noticed that most clients see results around two months. Your body could even continue to get rid of those dead fat cells up for up to six months. Your results will depend on your body type and the amount of fat cells that are being killed and then gotten rid of. If you get a larger area done, it will likely take longer to get rid of those fat cells. If the area is smaller, it could take a shorter amount of time. During your consultation we will explain further in detail when you could possibly expect to see your full results.
